چکیده

Collecting commonsense knowledge from freely available text can reduce the cost and effort of creating large knowledge bases. For the acquired knowledge to be useful, we must ensure that it is correct, and that it carries information about its relevance and about the context in which it can be considered commonsense. In this paper, we design, and evaluate an online game that classifies, using the input from players, text extracted from the web as either commonsense knowledge, domain-specific knowledge, or nonsense. A continuous scale is defined to classify the knowledge as nonsense or commonsense and it is later used during the evaluation of the data to identify which knowledge is reliable and which one needs further qualification. When comparing our results to other similar knowledge acquisition systems, our game performs better with respect to coverage, redundancy, and reliability of the commonsense acquired.

The Concept Game: Better Commonsense Knowledge Extraction by Combining Text Mining and a Game with a Purpose

Common sense collection has long been an important subfield of AI. This paper introduces a combined architecture for commonsense harvesting by text mining and a game with a purpose. The text miner module uses a seed set of known facts (sampled from ConceptNet) as training data and produces candidate commonsense facts mined from corpora. The game module taps humans’ knowledge about the world by ...

[THIS SPACE MUST BE KEPT BLANK] Toward Generating 3D Games with the Help of Commonsense Knowledge and the Crowd

Procedural game generation is the automatic creation of all aspects of a playable computer game. Procedural game generation systems require specialized knowledge, virtual worlds, and art assets. In this paper, we show how 3D graphical scenes for interactive fictions can be automatically generated with only knowledge that is readily available in existing knowledge bases or can be acquired via cr...

A Turing Game for Commonsense Knowledge Extraction By

Commonsense is of primary interest to AI research since the inception of the field. Traditionally, commonsense knowledge is gathered by using humans to create and insert it in knowledge bases. Automating the collection of commonsense from text that is freely available can reduce the cost and effort of creating large knowledge bases and can enable systems that dynamically adapt to current releva...

Modeling Topics in User Dialog for Interactive Tablet Media

In this paper, we present a set of crowdsourcing and data processing techniques for annotating, segmenting and analyzing spoken dialog data to track topics of discussion between multiple users. Specifically, our system records the dialog between the parent and child as they interact with a reading game on a tablet, crowdsources the audio data to obtain transcribed text, and models topics of dis...
